10 Tips for a successful trip - Part 2

As promised, I am back with some commonsensical and hopefully very useful of the 10 Tips for a successful trip.

So just to recap, last time we talked about a few administrative issues, so to speak, that one has to deal with when planning a successful trip. So whether you are traveling abroad for months or going on a business trip for a couple of days 100 miles away from home, you need to take your documents, plan your international car rental and airport transfer arrangements and have  a general idea of what you will be doing while traveling. Here are the other tips I thought might be useful for you too:

6. I know it’s an effort, but try to wake up earlier than you would. I know, it’s your vacation and you need to sleep and rest, but if you wake up at noon, you risk missing the best part of day, you’ll never avoid crowds and endless queues at the tourist spots.

5. Take an umbrella. Regardless of the weather – and surely, unless you are traveling to the Sahara desert – prepare for all kinds of weather.

4. Before purchasing lodgings and plane tickets, go online and compare prices. You will be surprised to see the differences in offer can be considerable.

3. On the other hand, if you are booking with an agency, be sure to check it’s a reliable source. Look for believable reviews and references.

2. Don’t forget to take your camera to immortalize the best moments of your trip. As time goes by, you will find much of the memories you thought there are actually faded, so a picture can refresh them.

1. Always smile and be open-minded, especially when interacting with the locals and with the different cultures you come across. Remember that every new journey is an adventure and make the most of it!
