The ultimate list of Best Halloween Movies – Part 1

Halloween is the season to be… spooky! There are some activities that children love – like trick-or-treating – and others that even adults can enjoy, such as watching movies. To get into the spirit of the season, here is the ultimate list of Best Halloween Movies – Part 1.

  1. Hocus Pocus (1993) is a “modern classic” of Halloween comedy movies. Starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, it tells the story of a couple of teenagers recently moved into Salem who accidentally bump into an old deserted house and release a coven of witches.
  2. Sleepy Hollow (1999) starring a brilliant Johnny Depp as Ichabod Crane, is an amazing horror movie and a must see. A lot of weird things can happen in a sleepy creepy town…
  3. Sleepy Hollow (the series) is another line you can put on your list. This is a detective series with a primary storyline revolving around the macabre events an Ichabod Crane awoken in modern day Sleepy Hollow has to face to reunite with his past and… stop the end of the world!
  4. Corpse Bride (2005) is one of the best animated movies to see on Halloween. It is very touchy and emotional and a great realization by director Tim Burton. It features the voices of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter (as the “Corpse Bride”, Emily, a girl who needs to reconcile with her past and return to peaceful death with the help of Victor and a bunch of magnanimous, yet utterly dead friends).
  5. The Addams Family (1991) is a movie that needs no introduction. It tells the very creepy and fun story of a very creepy and fun family. It also entails a fraud and a bit of family drama all mixed in a way that will spook and thrill you in equal measures.
