Dear friends, are you also disappointed that this winter just won’t let go? I know I have become a great fan of spring lately, doing a lot of day-dreaming from the office, musing about the warm, sunny days to come. Today we’re going to learn together how to spend a beautiful cold February day.
You don’t need a lot of “logistics” to spend a special day. And come to think of it, the cold and gloom are only apparent. Happiness is a state of mind that transcends all this. In simpler words, here are a few tips/ ideas on how to spend a blissful, albeit maybe not very adventurous late winter day:
1. Rent a car and take your friends or a close person to the nearest mall. Treat yourself to a warm cup of chocolate or a doughnut. Girls, take your best friends and go on an impromptu shopping spree. You know how it is, girls can never have enough accessories and shoes!
2. Invite some friends over and play some board games! The “cooler” alternative to the traditional game of cards (which shouldn’t be written off either) are strategic games to be played in pairs or groups. Suggestions include Catan, Carcassonne or even Game of Thrones – the board game.
3. Turn on the TV and watch a movie… or even better: go to the cinema! There are some amazing movies in theater these months, including the amazing “The Silence” by Martin Scorsese featuring Liam Nelson and Andrew Garfield in a deeply moving adaptation after the book by Shusaku Endo, “The Founder” which depicts the story of the famous franchise McDonald’s and the beautiful Disney animation “Moana” (nominated for the Oscars). Movies always somehow turn out to be a good answer, isn’t it?
These are just a few ideas to make a cold winter day a happy experience.
