These are the top cities to visit in Portugal – Part 2

These are the top cities to visit in Portugal and we want to see them all together. Today we continue our travel through the most emblematic Portuguese destinations, continuing our list:

3. Porto, the “Undefeated City”, is the center of Northern Portugal and one of the most amazing places you can visit. It provides a totally different but just as beautiful and relevant experience than Lisbon. You will fall in love with this city with its red rooftops and if you have the good inspiration to rent a car in Porto city, you can drive through town and then maybe go all the way to the Douro Valley and visit the villages and enjoy the landscapes and learn everything about the way wine is produced. In town, there are a lot of museums, parks and recreational facilities to enjoy. The Lello Library is one of the most beautiful libraries in the world and a landmark any bookish person should visit.

4. Funchal is the breathtakingly beautiful capital city of Madeira Island. The city is also the host of one of the greatest fireworks displays in the world, on New Year’s Eve, every year. There’s just a tiny issue: Madeira is an island, away from continental Portugal. But for all intents and purposes, it remains Portuguese land and you will also feel very much at home there. If you rent a car in Madeira or get a Madeira airport transfer, you will enjoy one of the most amazing experiences.

5. And back on continental Portugal, if you want to go to the seaside, the Algarve is waiting for you with arms wide open and Albufeira is one of the most inviting seaside resorts of all! There are miles and miles of beach, the amazing trademark rocks that emerge from the sea and altogether a wonderful experience to breathe the best air by the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
